Living in NYC – A sunny day in Central Park

Ever been to Central Park?

Welcome –

Well, what can I say?

Because we are living near Central Park (West Harlem) for a while, it is a must for us to use every opportunity to visit this huge, green place in middle of this bumping city. An extra plus is the phenomenal weather these past days. It has been very sunny, and luckily it is also still kind of warm.

We use the entrance at Central Park West / 110th Street, so these pictures give you an impression of the northern bit of the park. Central Park is somewhat wilder in the north. Compared to German parks these wilder parts (nature wise) are particularly striking. Don’t know if I had ever seen something similar in Germany, apart from the Wildparks (wildlife parks).

And I love the old-fashioned lanterns on Central Park West – a bit corny I know.

The pond with the duck families is also very lovely, at least now – other well informed people told me that the romantic touch decreases in summer, when the water turns a bright green due to excessive algae. But who cares about that right now – in Indian Summer.

Here are some pictures.

Thanks for these beautiful impressions of this area in the Central Park which I didn’t know yet. I definitely should think about a trip to NYC again. 🙂

Very nicely captured moments. Looks really beautiful. Enjoy your walks and keep on sharing your impressions 😉

  3. Have you indeed developed a fetish for streetlamps? Or is it only a temporary infatuation? Now, the shape of these lamps, would you call it bulbous? Or a bit like a scepter, so almost royal? Certainly somewhat subtle, understated. I do hope you will keep everyone updated how this plays out.

I don’t think it is a fetish just yet. But I definitely love all sorts of interesting and classy lamps. So don’t hesitate – I am always open for spontaneous presents in this department. Will certainly keep you informed on this.
