Living in NYC – Botanical Garden
I have to be honest: Visiting Botanical Gardens was never a top priority on my activities list. It didn’t matter in which city I was. Trips to botanical gardens were something I contemplated when parents were visiting, if at all.
Things have changed. I heard that the Botanical Garden of New York is in the Bronx, so I thought this might be a good reason for a trip to this part of the city. I had never been there before just because I never had a good reason to go. It was about time I changed that.
In a nutshell, the Bronx (or the parts of it that I saw) surprised me as it was not at all as feisty and rough as I had thought it would be and as it has been described by many. But I certainly didn’t see very much of it, as we went straight from the subway station to the Botanical Garden and back again.
From the photographs you can tell that we were heading there around Thanksgiving. And we didn’t stay for hours on end because of the moody weather.
Anyways, the Botanical Garden is huge and displays a rich variety of plants, which is so symptomatic – and impressive – about New York. They have frequently changing interesting exhibitions which are worth a visit. Give it a try! Let’s get carried away by its famous nature.
